Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1760-1765.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a cove and ogee molded flat pediment with a molded sarcophagus top with three turned wooden urn finials and a solid shaped fret. There is a molded arch with a carved keystone above the door, arched sidelights, turned free-standing columns at the front corners, turned quarter-columns at the back corners, serpentine molding at the back corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with ovolo molding at the top and a case door with an astragal top. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, a small pendant drop and supported on bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast rococo decoration in the spandrels and lunette, and a name boss engraves "Thos Wagstaffe London." Inside the chapter ring there is a second dial and a calendar aperture. Eight day movement.
